About ScaffoldPath

A method, not a black box.

ScaffoldPath exists because good support is temporary. This page explains the method, the evidence it stands on, and exactly how your data is handled — in plain terms.

Why "ScaffoldPath"?

In construction, scaffolding goes up to support the building — and comes down once the building stands on its own. Educational support should work the same way: the goal of every support is its own disappearance.

Most tools track what a student can't do yet. ScaffoldPath starts from strengths, matches evidence-based supports, and then measures the thing that actually matters — growing independence, week by week. When a support has done its job, the plan proposes stepping back.

How it works, end to end

  1. Start from strengths

A structured intake captures interests, strengths, sensory needs, and daily contexts. Every question can be skipped — and it is never a deficit checklist.

  2. Match with transparent rules

The intake becomes plain signal tags, matched against an evidence-rated strategy library by documented rules — never a model you can't inspect. An optional AI layer can reword a chosen strategy to fit your learner, but it never picks strategies, and you approve every word. Try the algorithm yourself.

  3. A human says yes

Matches arrive as a draft. Nothing becomes a plan until you review it and accept it — rejection is one tap.

  4. Practice daily

One clear schedule, one-tap check-ins, with difficulty and independence ratings that take seconds.

  5. Review weekly, change slowly

Adjustments are proposed only when the same trend holds for two full weeks. One unusual week never triggers a change — and you always make the call.

  6. Leave an audit trail

Every recommendation is logged with its signals, rules, candidates, and scores. Any "why" can be traced back.

Grounded in public evidence standards

  • NCAEP National Clearinghouse on Autism Evidence and Practice The autism-specific evidence foundation — which practices count as evidence-based.
  • AFIRM Autism Focused Intervention Resources & Modules Implementation know-how — how to plan, use, and monitor each practice.
  • WWC What Works Clearinghouse Research verification — the evidence tiers and effect sizes behind our ratings.
  • CAST Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Design for learner variability — reducing barriers in engagement and representation.

Strategies in the library cite these public sources. Evidence ratings follow a documented rubric — established, supported, emerging — never invented claims.

How your data is handled

Every statement below describes how the system works today — not aspirations, not marketing.

  • One home Your data lives in Supabase Postgres Row-level security is enabled on every table with a default-deny posture: only our server-side code can read or write, and the database key never leaves the server.
  • Out of reach Sign-in tokens in HttpOnly cookies only Session tokens never touch browser storage, where any script could read them. Cookies are SameSite=Lax, and Secure in production.
  • Never seen Passwords hashed by Supabase Auth We never store or transmit plaintext passwords — hashing and session refresh are handled by the auth provider.
  • Zero trackers, one narrow exception No ads, no analytics, no web fonts Pages load no external scripts, fonts, or analytics. The only outside request is the optional AI wording assistant — one call to DeepSeek, only when you press the button, carrying the strategy's published text and your questionnaire labels. The full detail is on the Privacy page.
  • A demo that can't leak Browser-only simulation The public demo runs entirely in your browser tab with made-up data. It never reads or writes the database — closing the tab erases it.
  • No real students Synthetic data in development While in development, the system runs on fictional test accounts only.
  • Adults only on the keys Accounts belong to adults A parent, guardian, or educator holds the account and operates the product. Learners never register or sign in themselves — everything recorded about a learner is provided by the adult supporting them.

Not built yet: email verification and parent/teacher roles. We list them so you can judge the system as it is — not as it plans to be.

What ScaffoldPath is not

ScaffoldPath is an educational support tool. It does not diagnose autism or any condition, does not provide medical or therapeutic advice, and is not a substitute for an IEP, a 504 plan, or the judgment of the student's educational team. The strategy library describes general educational practices and rates their public evidence — always adapt them with the people who know the learner.
